Six qualities that shape every matter we handle

Qualified, registered practitioners

All advocates hold current registration with the Lawyers Council of Thailand and maintain annual continuing professional development. Mediation is their primary work, not an addition to a general practice.

Written documentation throughout

Agendas, session notes, drafts, and final documents are all prepared in writing and shared with every participant in identical form. Nothing rests on memory or verbal summary.

True impartiality

Our mediators do not represent any individual participant. Each family member is treated with equal attention. If a conflict of interest exists, we say so before any session begins.

Confidential by design

Proceedings are conducted on a without-prejudice basis. What participants say in a session stays there. We do not share information with third parties without consent from everyone involved.

Fixed, transparent fees

Each service carries a fixed fee in Thai Baht, published before any commitment is made. There are no hourly billing surprises and no hidden charges once a matter is underway.

Paced to suit the family

There is no artificial deadline built into our process. If a family needs time between sessions to read and reflect, that time is simply part of the work — not a delay that needs to be managed around.

In Detail

What each quality means in practice

Professional expertise in family mediation

Mediation is a distinct discipline from litigation. It requires different skills — the ability to hold a structured conversation, to manage a room where emotions may run high, and to produce written documents that each participant considers fair. Our practitioners have dedicated their careers to this work.

The team at mitsahax has experience with matters ranging from straightforward single-session mediations to complex multi-generational family settlements involving property, ongoing financial arrangements, and the care of older relatives. This range means that when a matter turns out to be more involved than it first appeared, the right experience is already in the room.

A clear process with no hidden steps

Before any session, participants receive a written agenda prepared by the mediator. This is not a formality — it is the foundation of the session. Everyone arrives knowing what will be discussed and in what order, which reduces uncertainty and allows people to prepare their thoughts in advance.

After the session, a written note is prepared and shared within two working days. For the sibling coordination and multi-party settlement services, draft documents go to all participants for review before anything is finalised. No step is skipped, and none is assumed.

Attentive, personal service

Each matter is handled by the same practitioner from start to finish. There is no internal handover mid-process, no need to explain the background to a new person who joined later. The practitioner who took the initial enquiry is the same person who sits in the session and prepares the final document.

Initial enquiries are typically responded to within one working day. We do not use automated response systems for family law matters.

Transparent pricing, no billing surprises

The fees for each service are fixed and published: 4,800 THB for a family mediation session, 7,600 THB for sibling caregiver coordination, and 12,500 THB for a multi-party family settlement. These fees cover the scope described in the service specification.

We do not bill by the hour for the services listed. If a matter turns out to require additional sessions or work beyond the scope originally agreed, we discuss this openly before proceeding rather than presenting an unexpected invoice afterwards.

Outcomes that last because they are owned by the family

Agreements produced through mediation tend to hold longer than those imposed by an external authority, because the people involved had genuine input into shaping them. Our role is to provide structure and documentation — the decisions about substance remain with the family at every step.

The written documents we produce are designed to be revisited over time. Circumstances change — people move, responsibilities shift, financial situations evolve — and a well-written agreement should be able to accommodate that.

How We Compare

Mediation versus other approaches

Families often ask how our approach differs from going directly to court, hiring individual solicitors, or doing nothing. This comparison covers the practical differences.

Consideration Typical court proceedings mitsahax Mediation
Control over outcome Decision made by judge Family decides
Confidentiality Public record Fully private
Fixed, known cost Open-ended legal fees Fixed fee per service
Pace of process Court schedule Set by the family
Written outcome shared equally Court order, not collaborative Identical document to all
Impartial process Each side has own solicitor Single neutral mediator

What Sets Us Apart

Distinctive features of our practice

English and Thai language service

We work fully in both English and Thai, which makes us well-placed for families where some members are more comfortable in one language than the other. Written documents can be prepared in either language or both.

Remote sessions available

For families with members outside Bangkok or who prefer not to meet in person, mediation sessions can be conducted via secure video call. The preparation and documentation process is identical to in-chambers work.

Documents written to be revisited

Agreements produced through our services are deliberately drafted to accommodate future change. Where a family's situation evolves, we can facilitate a follow-up session to update the written record without starting from the beginning.

PDPA-compliant data handling

Client information is handled in accordance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act. We store only what is necessary, retain it only as long as needed, and do not pass it to any third party without explicit consent from all parties to the matter.
