What happens in a mediation session?
Before the session, we agree a written agenda with everyone involved. The session itself is a structured conversation — one in which each person has a clear opportunity to speak and to be heard. At the end, a short note is prepared recording what was discussed and any preliminary understandings reached. Each participant receives the same note to read at home. There is no pressure to resolve everything in one sitting.
Who decides what is agreed?
All substantive decisions rest with the family members involved. Our role is to provide a calm structure, prepare clear written documents, and ensure each participant can speak and listen without interruption. We do not impose outcomes or advocate for any particular result.
Can sessions be held remotely?
Yes. The Family Mediation Session can be conducted via a secure video call when participants are not all in Bangkok or prefer not to meet in person. The written agenda and outcome note are handled in exactly the same way as an in-chambers session.
What does the Sibling Caregiver Coordination service cover?
It covers arrangements among adult siblings who jointly care for an older parent. We speak with each sibling separately, prepare a written summary of current arrangements, and draft a shared care document covering financial contributions, time commitments, and decision-making responsibilities. Every sibling reviews the draft before it is finalised, and the document is written to be revisited as circumstances change over time.
How long does a Multi-Party Family Settlement take?
The timeline depends on the number of family members involved and the complexity of the matters being addressed. We do not set an artificial deadline. Typically, families complete the process over two to four weeks, though some prefer a longer period to allow time for reflection between drafts. We work at the pace that is right for the family.
Is what we discuss confidential?
Yes. Mediation proceedings are conducted on a confidential basis. Participants can speak openly without concern that statements made during the session will be used in any future proceedings. The written outcome note records only what the participants have agreed to document.
What are the fees and how are they paid?
The fees listed — 4,800 THB for a mediation session, 7,600 THB for sibling caregiver coordination, and 12,500 THB for a multi-party settlement — are fixed for the scope described. Payment is made in Thai Baht by bank transfer or in-person at our Phaya Thai chambers. We are happy to discuss what is included before any commitment is made.
